Our Quilt History

The Quilt Club gave away our first baby quilt in 1996 to Pastor Steve Olmsted’s brother’s family. Through 2015 our group crafted about 60 quilts for babies whose parents attended Oak Hills. Our most recent went to Tanya and Aleksandar Stojanovic’s Sophia! We sewed 249 quilts for at-risk babies, as well as 238 knitted hats, 17 knitted booties and 11 afghans. Two of our ABC quilts were given to families from other Presbyterian churches. Some of the later quilts went to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. We also made 12 Prayer/Comfort Quilts for ill members in our congregation. In addition to the above, the congregation made over 100 quilts for those in need after the Katrina hurricane, and the congregation also made over 100 little dresses for mission partners serving children in in Africa. ~Carolyn Wattenbarger
