Dear Oak Hills Family –

Happy Thursday!  This is your weekly update…

Join us Sunday for worship at 9:15 (contemporary) or 11am (traditional), or from home via Livestream at 9:15.  This week we open up two tiny parables of Jesus that just might change your whole life…  you won’t want to miss it!

Also on Sunday, remember to come early or stay late for Adult Bible Study in the Fireside room: 9:15am “The Book of James” with Eddie Mensinger, and 10:30am “The Good News Story” with Larry Totzke.

Children and youth will continue to study the Book of Acts in their classes, and youth group is back on Sunday night at 6pm.

Looking ahead:

Our first in-person Men’s Breakfast is next Saturday October 2nd.  Come for a hearty breakfast and good conversation – 8:30 at church.

Christy Polk will be leading a new in-home Connect Group for women, Thursday evenings.  The focus will be “praying the Psalms,” using a Beth Moore study guide and inviting participants’ insights and discussion.  If you’ve been longing to connect, share, and process life in the light of God’s Word, come join in! contact Christy for more info (christy@oakhillspres.org).

A reminder for those looking for a convenient way to keep up with your tithes and offerings: our giving page makes it easy to set up automatic withdrawal or make quick online payments.  Contact finance secretary Jim Anderson (503-757-5298) for more information.

Finally, here is your verse for today: “Therefore flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, alongside all who call on the Lord from a pure heart.  Have nothing to do with senseless and ignorant controversies, for you know that they breed quarrels, and the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome, but kind to all” (2 Timothy 2:22-24).

We love because He first loved us…
